It is advised that males with varicoceles undergo SDF testing (enlarged veins within the scrotum) Recurrent pregnancy loss, idiopathic or unexplained infertility, and IVF treatment failure abnormalities in the sperm's development and early cell death brought on by risk factors from a person's lifestyle that can be changed, such as heat exposure, smoking, exposure to toxins, and chemotherapeutics.

What are the various sperm Sperm DNA Fragmentation procedures?

SDF testing can be divided into two categories: direct and indirect. In direct assays, dyes and probes are used to assess the degree of sperm DNA damage. Indirect assays, on the other hand, evaluate the DNA's sensitivity to denaturation, which occurs more frequently in fragmented DNA. The most popular techniques for measuring SDF are;

  • Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)
  • Sperm chromatin structure assay (SCSA)
  • Sperm chromatin dispersion (SCD)
